The Islewear Story

Islewear, founded by designer Jordane Symington in 2017, is an independent contemporary jewellery brand creating organic treasures celebrating the unique heritage of rural Scotland. We create alternative jewellery that is beautifully designed and skilfully created, inspired and shaped by the wild elements of Scotland.

We are endlessly inspired by the elements and how they shape our life, seeking to include the essence of the elements within each of our designs.

Islewear has been nominated for a number of nationwide awards including Young UK Jewellery Designer of the Year and Young Scottish Craftsperson of the Year, as well as being featured in multiple nationwide publications including Vogue, Tatler, Brides, The Scotsman and the Press and Journal. Islewear was also featured on the TV show Secret Scotland with Susan Calman, showing our Landscape collection.

We offer a bespoke service that is perfect for those who seek a lasting treasure that is truly unique. We work with our clients on personal commissions ranging from engagement rings and wedding rings, and everything in between. Read more about our bespoke process.

We are committed to sourcing our materials in an ethical and sustainable manner, exclusively using 100% recycled precious metals and individually sourced ethical gemstones. We work closely with our trusted suppliers to ensure we only work with ethical mines.

We believe in slow fashion, creating quality timeless pieces in our signature aesthetic, that will transcend fashions and seasons, and be treasured for generations to come.

The Workshops and Island Showroom

Islewear has grown to two workshops, our original flagship workshop in Callanish, the Isle of Lewis and now to Kings Langley, Hertfordshire & covering London.

In 2021, we opened our debut jewellery showroom and boutique, situated alongside our workshop where we create our jewellery in-house. The showroom stocks the entire Islewear jewellery collection. And is open by appointment when we are on Island.

How to find us

Our workshop, studio and showroom is located in Breasclete, Isle of Lewis (the next village along from the Callanish Standing Stones). As we split our time between the Scottish Isles and London, we are open by appointment only. Please contact us to arrange a visit and we’ll be delighted to welcome you.
