The result is completely one-of-a-kind, made only for you, with its own special story and meaning. We can customise existing designs from our collections, adapting stone choice or precious metal type to suit your individual taste.

We can reset sentimental heirloom jewellery. We’ll work directly with you to sensitively reimagine your heirloom jewellery within the Islewear aesthetic. Through repurposing your stones and reimagining the design we can give your unworn treasures a new lease of life. The beauty of this process is that you can retain the sentimentality of the original jewel, but in a new design that better reflects your own personality and style.

We cannot accept responsibility for gemstones that we has not provided (for example some old heirloom stones may have weaknesses, inclusions or fissures, that are only revealed when dismantling the original jewellery, or when setting into the new design.

We can recycle your sentimental gold into a new design in keeping with our signature aesthetic. This aligns perfectly with our recycled ethos- something old to something new. Whilst remodelling your sentimental pieces can be a beautiful way to honour and treasure your heirloom jewellery, it is a lengthy process that sometimes issues can arise from. Before committing to the process please read through our terms and conditions.

More often than not, it is not necessarily more cost effective to recycle your sentimental metal as it requires far more work than ‘new’ metal. It’s rare that the cost for your remodelling would be less than that of my ‘made to order’ pieces. This is due to the lengthy time and labour intensive process involved. Our minimum charge for a remodelling starts at £450. For example, melting down your own gold and drawing it out into a plain ring or a landscape textured ring would start at £450, adding stone setting or engraving would be an additional charge.

If you have a ring that you would like to add landscape detail to, without changing the design or fit of the ring. This is something we can do at a cost of £50.

We can only work with metal that has a hallmark showing- this is for the safety of your sentimental piece of jewellery and also for health and safety- so we know exactly what we are working with. Stone setting is an additional cost and we can quote individually for this option. Please allow 16 weeks for remodelling work due to the complex processes involved. Whilst this is a long and labour intensive process, it is worth it to be able to transform your family heirlooms into a new design to be treasured.

Bespoke pieces are priced according to the complexity of the design, your stone and metal choice. You can get in contact with us for a quote at hello@islewear.co.uk. If you have budget in mind we will always source the best stone choices possible according to your budget, and advise you on the best metal and stone choices within your brief.

Once we’ve reached our final design we will send you your quote dependant on your choice of metal and stone choice. We require a 50% deposit up-front initially before work begins and the final 50% on completion, your new design will then either be available for collection or sent out to you.

The Process

From start to finish, customising an existing design usually takes 10 weeks, this includes stone sourcing, however if we go down the route of having a more unique stone cut specifically for you, this can be longer. Our full bespoke service process can take up to 16 weeks from start to finish, this takes into account design time, stone sourcing, the full making process and the hallmarking of your piece. Often we can speed up different aspects of your bespoke process, as we keep now keep a stock of stones and metal to choose from, but please do let us know if you are in a rush and we will do our utmost to deliver to your timescale.

Once your commission is complete, you will be invited back to the studio to collect your commission. If you’re unable to collect the finished piece yourself, we will provide imagery and video via email and then arrange delivery of your treasure to you.
